GORDON WRIGHT | President

Gordon is an active surfer, triathlete, rugby player and adventure racer, having competed in races such as the Cal-Eco Kernville, the Appalachian Extreme and Ironman Arizona. He also founded one of the nation’s most notorious bandit adventure race, but gave that up in case he ever runs for office one day.
JESS SMITH | senior account manager
Born and raised in Australia to Canadian parents, Jess grew up with the mountains and ocean in her blood. A competitive skier, swimmer and runner throughout school, she’s added climbing, bouldering, snowboarding, yoga, dance, scuba and wine tasting to her repertoire. As former Communications Manager for the World Ski and Snowboard Festival and Cornucopia Wine and Food Festival in Whistler, BC, and as Brand Marketing Manager at adventure company ZOZI, Jess stays deeply involved in the action sports communications world, made possible through work with clients such as Red Bull, Cotopaxi, DownTek, Buff and AlterG. Though mediocre at US geography, Jess makes up for it by exploring her new home-base as much as possible; tasting wines, hiking up and barreling down mountains, and making friends.

KELSEY ANDERSON | account manager
Kelsey Anderson is climbing the ladder of public relations quickly at OPR, a company she joined in January 2015. Prior to joining OPR, Anderson became a Chico State graduate of journalism and public relations with a minor in great books and ideas and eight years of Spanish under her academic belt. With a lust for travel and adventure, this Marin County native is a competitive cyclist, avid skier, dirtbiker and all-around athlete, having competed in races like the UCI World Championships for downhill. The gal’s got gumption and is a strategic thinker by nature and transferring those skills to public relations is an intuitive progression. Aside from rambling through the pines, she’ll be delighted to banter irreverently, share a laugh and cheers a beer with you.
MARY GOSSEL | account executive
Mary found her way back home to Marin County after spending several years on the road, developing and leading international cycling vacations for Backroads Active Travel Company and teaching alpine skiing at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. With a background in Media Studies from UC Berkeley (Go Bears!), Mary brings communications and client relationship skills, combined with a passion for adventure and the outdoors to OutsidePR. A former competitive swimmer turned endurance athlete, Mary looks forward to competing in her second Ironman this summer. When not cycling crazy distances, she can be found strolling the streets of San Francisco in search of the best coffee and donuts around with her sidekick, Theo, in tow.

JOSH BIRNBAUM | account coordinator
Growing up in Marin County, surrounded by an unlimited supply of outdoor activities provided by Mt. Tam and surrounding areas, Josh has grown up with a love of all things outdoors. He played both soccer and volleyball in high school, and has served as an assistant for the Drake Varsity Soccer team ever since graduating as an attempt to relive the glory days. He also boasts of his ability to at one point dunk despite being only 5’10’’. When he is not outdoors, Josh explores his other interests, including graphic design and watching the Golden State Warriors, his favorite of the Bay Area sports teams.
